Emory turns FOUR! Paying it forward...

It is a big week here for Mister Emory "Bubba" Handrich. This week we get to celebrate his fourth birthday! This is a very important birthday for Emory. If Emory wouldn't have been adopted, instead of celebrating with cake and presents and singing, he would have been sent to an adult mental institution for his fourth birthday. What a horrible way to celebrate. The results of being institutionalized in his home country are pretty horrifying. Take a look at this post which shows the jaw dropping results of children being institutionalized. The baby homes are bad enough!

Here is one example of little "Ksenia's" from Reece's Rainbow's institution transformation.

That could have been Emory. I am so thankful we could adopt him before it was too late. Since being home, he has already come so far! He can crawl and climb, eat just about anything, and babbles and signs "more" and he hasn't even started therapy yet! Shows what a little love and nourishment can do. I only wish we could have got him sooner.

Here is the first picture I ever saw of Emory, when I was pregnant with Emerald. Beside it is a very recent picture of my little guy home with his sister!

For Emory's very special fourth birthday we want to pay it forward. Emory's orphanage brother, "Evan" has a family who has been working very hard to bring him home. They have been working for almost a year and things are finally getting to the point where they will get their travel date soon. I have held this little boy. He was hungry for love and gave me lots of kisses. His smile melted my heart. I am so happy the Brown family are going to get him before he is sent to an institution!

In honor of Emory's big fourth birthday (and in lieu of gifts), I am trying to do whatever I can to help the Browns get the money they need to bring Evan home. If it wasn't for my friends and family and the wonderful people that stopped by this blog, we wouldn't have raised the nearly $30,000 to bring our treasure home. Let's see if 40 people can chip in at least $10 so we can "pay it forward" for Emory's birthday and give the Brown family $400 towards their adoption expenses. Could you spare $10? The chip-in will be up for one week. Please spread the word! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE!

If you have any questions, or would like your gift to be tax deductible, please let me know!
